Christianity is the most popular religion practised in the UK and the largest church is the Church of England (Anglican) and the Queen is the head of the church. The Church in Wales is also Anglican and in Scotland the official church is the Presbyterian Church of Scotland. Other common Christian faiths include Roman Catholicism and the Methodist Church.
Less than half of British people believe in God with 15 per cent of people have no actual connection to any religion or church.
As Britain is a secular society, religious freedom is guarenteed under law and you are free from persecution to chose and practice your religion without the fear of repression. People in the UK are extremely tolerant toward people of all faiths and their religious beliefs. As such, there are also large Muslim, Hindu, Sikh and Jewish communities across the UK.
