
The Working Holiday Maker Visa (WHM) is a fantastic opportunity available to foreign nationals of 19 different countries who are aged between 18 to 30 years old. The visa permits the holder to work in any part of Australia and combines the experience of travelling around the country with the opportunity to work and supplement your funds.
Age
Applicants must be aged between 18 and 30 years old (inclusive) to qualify for the scheme.

Proof of Funds
All applicants must show that they have sufficient funds to pay for a return or onward ticket and will be able to support themselves during the initial period of their stay. A figure of £2000 is generally accepted as a reasonable amount.
Health and Character
All applicants must be of respectable character and must not have substantial or any serious criminal convictions. In addition all applicants must be of good health and should not have any serious medical conditions prior to application.

Visa Duration
All applicants are given a 12 month visa allowing them to live and work in Australia . If the applicants have worked for a 3 month period in designated rural areas of Australia as a seasonal worker, then it is possible to apply for a second WHM visa.
Work Restrictions
The WHM visa is designed to be a supplement to an applicants travel funds and not a means of working full time for a year within Australia . As such, applicants cannot work for a single employer for longer than 6 months. Furthermore applicants are restricted to a maximum 4 month period of study or training.
