From the 14th December 2010, all clients applying for a Tier 1 (General) visa will be required to have their Biometric data taken to be issued with their new Tier 1visa. The visa will no longer be stamped in the client’s passport and all applicants will be issued one of the new Biometric cards instead. These cards look very similar to a UK driving license. We can also confirm that all clients applying for a Tier 1 (General) visa extension will also now be subject to the new Biometric requirement.
Once a client's application has been submitted to the UK Border Agency, we will be sent a letter requesting our client to have their Biometric data taken within two weeks. This new process involves our clients travelling to the nearest Public Enquiry Office or one of a select number of Post Offices to have their digital fingerprints and photograph taken. This data will be encoded onto the client’s Biometric Residence Permit (as the new Biometric card is officially known). Client’s should not worry about this new procedure as there is no additional cost and is simply a change in the application procedure itself. Rest assured, our immigration consultants will explain this new process thoroughly should you choose to use our exclusive service.
